How Did We Get
Into This???

Several Years Ago...

Several Years Ago we took a trip to Indiana and became fascinated by the Amish and their way of life. That started a journey to learn more about these fascinating people and their beliefs.

Since that time we have read dozens of books, subscribed to their magazines and newspapers, and have become good friends with several Amish families in Michigan and Ohio.

Our Experience...

Our Experience with the Amish has given us a new perspective on the simple life and an appreciation for their culture. We have shared many meals in their homes, have helped them on their farms harvesting crops, putting up hay, milking cows and other household chores.

We’ve been their overnight guests, have attended their church services, and we even learned to harness their horses and drive to town.

An Amish Friend...

An Amish Friend encouraged us to go into the furniture business. We were intrigued by this vision where we could combine my enjoyment for woodworking & furniture design, Julie’s artistic flair & decorating talents, while working with the skilled craftsmanship of the Amish to bring a high-end product to our clients.

Our Mission..

Our Mission is to be a blessing to the dozens of Amish families who skillfully build the furniture, and to bless the many families who purchase these heirloom pieces that will be enjoyed by many generations. We are so confident in the quality of these Amish crafted pieces that we offer a lifetime guarantee. That sets us apart from others.

What Makes Us Different???

We Work Directly with the Amish and with you. Most stores order their products through a wholesale broker, paying the broker a commission. They then pay the broker a delivery fee to pick up the finished pieces and deliver them to their store. These costs are all rolled into their price, which is passed on to the customer.

We feel we can better serve our clients with a hands-on business. This means that we place an order directly with the owner of the shop. Every two or three weeks, Jim spends two full days in these shops, picking up and following up on orders. This hands-on experience has helped us in finding the highest quality builders and finishing shops.

Jim’s experience in design, woodworking, inspection, and quality control has made him very particular in the quality of our products. Our hands-on approach has enabled us to have a great working relationship with all the Amish builders we partner with, and not using a middleman for ordering, picking up and delivering, keeps our costs down.

Our Prices...

Our Value!

Our Quality

The commonly mistaken perception is that Amish furniture is expensive. Compared to the overseas disposable furniture, this is true. But compared to name brand furniture (most of it also being made overseas) our furniture costs less and is of much higher quality. Name brands just aren’t what they used to be.

We don’t play the “mark-way-up to mark-way-down” game. Our no-gimmick everyday discounted prices allow our clients to get exactly what they want and at the best price. You can be confident that our prices are always discounted even to the point of being less than the advertised specials of our competitors. The “bottom line” is what counts, and we are determined to simply have the best prices.

Many people are attracted more by “terms” offered by the big stores rather than the quality of the product. “Terms” are not free. The cost of “terms” and “free sales tax” are rolled into the price and is part of the marketing game. The consumer pays for it. The furniture from overseas is so inexpensive that there is plenty of room to add in these extra costs. Again, sift through the gimmicks & look at the bottom line.

When buying imports, buyer beware! A “cherry finish” is a color and is not Cherry wood. Many ads use enticing descriptive words to describe their inferior products. You may think you’re buying a quality product, but maybe not. Often times we think we’re buying a solid quality piece, but it turns out to be veneer over particleboard. We’ve done it, I think we all have.

When it comes to the very best value for your money, visit the Amish Barn Collection and ask us about our quality.

Quality. It’s what we sell. Guaranteed!

We are a family doing business the Amish Way, dealing honestly and with high integrity.
